Ortrugo Colli Piacentini D.O.C.
It is supposed that the rather bizarre name derives from the fact that it was considered less valuable compared to the predominant and more noble Malvasia grape, with which it was often associated. Therefore, it was called in the Piacenza dialect ‘ortr ug’, meaning ‘the other grape’.
